The Slave Lake Regional Landfill wishes to advise residents and commercial haulers of upcoming schedule changes in observance of the Easter long weekend.

Landfill and Transfer Station Closures

The Slave lake Regional Landfill will be closed on Friday, April 3 (Good Friday) and Saturday, April 4, 2026. The Regional Landfill and transfer stations will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, April 7.

For urgent requests, the MD provides a 24/7 reception service to assist residents with their needs beyond the standard working hours. To access this service, simply call 780.849.4888 and speak with an MD representative.

E-Waste

Take it or Leave it

Turn your trash into someone else's treasure. Bring items like books, toys, kitchenware and sports gear to the "Take it or Leave it" shed located to the right of the scale house as you enter the landfill.

Payment Options

Payment Methods

Disposal fees may be paid at the Regional Landfill by cheque, Interac, Visa or MasterCard. Properly-sorted recyclables are accepted free of charge at the Regional Landfill. The first 500 kilograms of domestic waste is free for residents of the Town of Slave Lake and the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River. 

Cash is neither accepted nor kept on hand at the Regional Landfill.
